If this is your first visit, start with the basics: Velvet Directory is for genuine antique, vintage, historical and reproduction-style items. Keep every conversation, listing and collection arrangement clear, respectful and safe.

Keep personal details private
Do not put a home address, phone number, collection instructions or payment details in a public listing. Share collection details privately and only when appropriate.
Keep it item-focused
Use messages to discuss a real listing or collection arrangement. Tell Velvet Directory if a listing, message, member or transaction feels unsafe.
If something is wrong
Report it early.
Keep a copy of the relevant listing, messages and factual details, then email Velvet Directory so the concern can be reviewed. Velvet Directory may ask for more information, remove content, restrict an account, or keep the report and relevant records while an issue is investigated. Email reports are not an emergency response.
Email a safety reportTo help us review it, include the listing reference or web link and a short description. Do not send payment-card details, passwords or a private collection address by email.
Immediate risk
Do not wait for an email reply if you are in immediate danger: contact emergency services. For suspected criminal conduct, consider police or the relevant authority.
Online harm
For serious online abuse or harmful content, report it to the platform first. You may then be able to report it to eSafety. This is an external reporting route, separate from a Velvet Directory email report.
